Evaluation of the phase inversion process as an application method for synthetic polymers in conservation work

Evaluation of the phase inversion process as an application method for synthetic polymers in conservation work by M.T. Doménech-Carbó, E. Aura-Castro.

AbstractThe phase inversion process is one of the most widely used methods in preparation synthetic polymeric membranes for reverse osmosis, ultra- and nanofiltration. In this paper proposed as an application method organic polymers such coatings consolidants, or to form films protect ceramic during filling casting missing parts. This makes it possible control porosity protective film. The transition demixing phenomena on which based are explained using a diagram (polymer–solvent–nonsolvent). Four commercial products—Imedio Banda Azul cellulose nitrate, Paraloid B72 acrylic resin, Ultrason S2010 polysulphone Uitrason E2010 poly(ethersulphone)—have been applied by resulting have examined cryo-SEM.
