The Influence of Dust Scattering in Gamma‐Ray Burst Environments onto the Soft X‐Ray Component of Their Afterglows by S. Klose.
I consider the case of a gamma-ray burst (GRB) occurring in or near an extended dust-rich region galaxy. Part dust located many parsecs away from GRB source shall survive explosion for some time and affect propagation soft X-rays its afterglow to observer by scattering. Since scattered radiation arrives at with delay, investigate here whether this could result detectable excess hours after explosion. If detected, be direct evidence environment burster, as is suggested Paczynski’s recent hypernova model GRBs.
